Summary |
 |
A automated balanced scorecard (Abrige EXECUTE! balanced scorecard) linking the perspectives of people, process, customer and financial perspectives to clinical, administrative and regulatory requirements was developed in alignment with the health system's annual strategic implementation plan. The flexible and open architecture of EXECUTE! allowed direct translation of the unique strategy. Abrige technology was integrated with proprietary systems, eliminating the interruption in workflow currently experienced with the manual effort. Because EXECUTE! is built for and is presented via the Internet, external units and providers were easily included in the scorecard. A single strategic vision was enabled.

Challenge |
 |
The health system was overwhelmed in managing a manual balanced scorecard that required full time attention from administrative and IT staff. The decision had already been made that a balanced scorecard would help management improve performance of the health system. The executives wanted an automated system that was bigger, faster, more consistent, offered anywhere access to real-time data, but only to authorized users and included collaboration.

Within one week, a pilot Scorecard was in place. Within 3 weeks a fully automated Scorecard that required no intervention from client IT personnel was launched. The pilot Scorecard contains a full reporting structure specific to the needs of the health system. Everything is in place to grow the Scorecard over time to include a complete and balanced scorecard aligned with the health system's annual strategic implementation plan.
